Did you know that sociologists estimate that by the year 2045 white people will no longer be more that 51% of the US population.
Are we ready?
Most white people I know want to get race right. We want to be fair. We want to listen. But when the topic comes up, we go quiet.
Not because we don’t care. Because nobody ever showed us how to start.
Over the last several months, I’ve been running skill-building cohort groups, practicing exactly this. Learning to talk with other white people about race and culture. Not to win an argument. Not to prove we’re good. Just to get better at it.
And here’s what we found.
People are more open than we expected. Many just never had someone ask. The conversations were less scary than we’d been led to believe. One person told us, “They couldn’t believe I actually wanted to talk about this.”
The Skill-Building Cohort is where you practice. You’ll become confident and competent in six essential conversations about race and culture. You’ll learn to sit with grief without rushing to fix it. You’ll understand how your own body and brain react when a topic feels dangerous. And you’ll see how privilege shapes the way we think and act, not just our story.
You will make mistakes. We laugh a lot, and we come back.
The future is already arriving. The question is who we’re becoming as we go.
If you want to practice with us, we are starting a new group soon.

I was a participant in the first cohort and I can tell you it was one of the best things I’ve ever done. I learned a lot and am able to put into practice what I learned. It was incredible.
